We’re going on a little beach getaway for the next week.

I’m super excited, but the process of packing and getting ready has been sort of stressful. (I wrote a little about it in Monday’s post.) Normally, I’d have a reading list ready to go, but I haven’t had a chance to even think about it this week.
So, help me out! What are your favorite beach reads? Anything I can’t miss? Anything that just makes you think of summer? Give me all the recommendations, y’all! And thank you! 🙂
I wish I could, but I have not read much of late that just really jumps out and says “You must read this!” However, I can recommend a good wine; will that work? They were out of my favorite Pinot Noir yesterday and the guy recommended La Crema Pinot Noir from the Sonoma vineyard. (Apparently, they have another vineyard somewhere.) It was awesome and the weekend is coming and you cannot buy wine here on Sunday so I went back today and got another bottle. Mind you, I have not finished the first one, but you know, one should be prepared…like for the beach. I hope ya’ll have a great time!

I will always take a wine recommendation! 🙂 I’m really looking forward to relaxing and having some drinks and being by the water. Just have to make it through the rest of the packing, and then we’re home free! Or rather, beach free.

Have a great time. Beach vacations are all about sand, surf, and being really lazy. I’m not sure what your reading preferences are, but my advice is lay back and snooze. 🙂

I plan to do a lot of that!

Hi Katie, I recently read Content Inc and started Everybody Writes. I found both of those interesting books if you want to dive into the business of content creation and the creation of marketable writing. Not everyone’s thing, and I also really like reading books about moths. So, maybe I am not be the best one to provide recommendations for a summer reading.

Moths are cool…as long as they do not get too close to the flame.

Both of those sound really interesting! I love reading about writing and creating. 🙂 I confess I’ve not read a ton about nature, generally, and it was actually on my list this year to add a few books about plants, gardening, the little animals we find around our yards and houses, and just generally how to be a better human in the natural world. All of that to say, any favorites about moths? I’d love to add a couple to my list!

I love this: “just generally how to be a better human in the natural world.” Check out Acts of Restorative Kindness at wearetheark.org when you get home from your trip.

I am really enjoying Much Ado About Mothing. It is a new release and is a good blend of science and story telling. I am also enjoying The Forest Unseen right now. It is about all the little things that happen in a small patch land.

Thanks for these! I’ll add both to my list. I love that title – The Forest Unseen. Feels magical. 🙂

Not the kind of reads you mean, I suspect, but the horizon, the dancing waves, rock formations, sand and seaweed ‘ words’.

You’re so absolutely right! I’ve spent a lot of today just sitting and listening to the sounds of the beach. It’s wonderful!
