One of my goals for 2022 is to read a fiction and nonfiction book every week. So, two books a week, essentially, trying to branch out into new topics and push myself to read new things. I’m a little ahead of the game right now at 56 books read. (Not a contest, but yay! That’s three more than I was able to read during all of last year.) But as you can imagine, I’m always on the lookout for my next read.
So tell me, what are you reading? What have you read lately? What should I read next? And if you’re looking for recommendations, too, feel free to leave me a comment! I’ve read lots of good stuff this year. 😊
Wow, Katie! You are reading at a fast pace! Bravo. My reading right now is research – nothing exciting to pass on. Happy reading!

Thanks, Katie! Not as fun as reading classic fiction. 😁

I do love fiction. 🙂 But I also enjoy getting to really dig in to research.

Mostly census records–doing a deep dive in research, but they are indeed fascinating!

Amazing accomplishment so far! If I can get through 50 books in two years that is an accomplishment. My current book is “The Secret World of Weather: How to Read Signs in Every Cloud, Breeze, Hill, Street, Plant, Animal, and Dewdrop” by Tristan Gooley. Interesting read if you are into learning about weather. If not, it may be a little boring.

Right now I’m reading How to Win friends & influence people by Dale Carnegie.
I’m not a avid reader and it’s been a while since I last read any book. But, I’m enjoying this book so far. It’s good for self development and mental growth.
I’ve purchased 3 more books with it. 🙂

I’ve heard from several people who’ve read that one and somehow it’s never made it onto my list. I’m adding it today!

What do you recommend me? I like self development books, or something about mental growth. My niche is health and wellness, so any book with that theme will also work

I’ve read a couple of books about ikigai that I liked, and would definitely recommend this one – Ikigai: Giving Every Day Meaning and Joy, by Yukari Mitsuhashi. As I recall, it was a pretty quick read, too. I also enjoyed Hare Brain, Tortiose Mind by Guy Claxton.

LOL! Sorry about that – it’s been a busy few days. Normally, I’ve got a little more time, but this week just ended up being packed with meetings and such. Hopefully next week is quieter.

I just finished The Watchmaker of Filigree Street by Natasha Pulley. Good fiction with unexpected twists and turns.

Two books a week is a great goal, and that’s amazing you’re keeping up with it! I’m a fantasy lover, so I’ve been reading The Stormlight Archive series by Brandon Sanderson and it’s one of the best series of books I’ve ever read!

I’ve had Brandon Sanderson on my list for a long time! I like fantasy, too. 🙂

You’ve gotta read this series! It’s fantastic. If you want to start off with something small, Warbreaker is a good standalone book (not in the same series but still in the Cosmere).

Two books per week….wowwww
I read two books a month. I would like to move to one book per week

That’s actually where I started last year. I decided to to do two a week this year just to snap myself out of a reading rut. It’s not always easy to make the time, but I’ve really enjoyed it. Definitely a project, though.

Recent reads – The Color Purple by Alice Walker, Em and the big Hoom by Jerry Pinto.
Current read – Breakfast at Tiffany’s and other stories by Truman Capote

Sometimes I stop and wonder why and, perhaps more perplexing, how I’ve never read anything by Truman Capote.

I just finished up Atoms and Ashes by Serhii Plokhy. Great book about nuclear disasters. Terrifying read as well. Don’t read if you’re strongly affected by disaster books. Otherwise, I highly recommend giving this one a go.

Just discovered your site. Seems I’ll poke around a bit.
As for this piece, it’s always interesting to discover what people are reading.

I love that! I read a fiction and a non-fiction every week. This week, I’m working through Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking by Malcolm Gladwell. Haven’t picked my fiction yet.
Thanks for stopping by, and for reading! 🙂
