Things have calmed down around here after some unexpected stress in the middle of the week, so I feel like I finally have some time to sit down and really write. That’s how I’ll be spending my weekend. So, expect July’s short story on Monday – a little late, but life happens.
And in the meantime, here’s a sneak peek at our butcher block countertops!

Work on the kitchen starts next week. It’ll be a whole different kind of chaos from this week, and I can’t lie, I’m looking forward to it.
Onward, and happy creating, y’all!
Interested to see the kitchen

Thank you for asking! 🙂 I’m doing okay. It was a stressful week, but things seem to have calmed down and I’m feeling better, especially mentally. Hoping that things are a little more smooth from here on out.

Don’t take stress!!
I know it’s unavoidable sometimes, but please it’s not good for the mother and the baby.
Invest time in things that makes you peaceful. Do things that you think can take you away from the stress, like knitting, gardening (you have garden if I remember), cooking, or listen to calming music, which proves to be good.
Best wishes

It’ll be interesting to see when everything is finished. From what I’ve seen so far, you’re going to have a fabulous kitchen.

I hope so! Our new appliances should get here next week, too, so I’m super excited to see everything come together.

We have a put together cutting board central island to our kitchen. One is a long, narrow butcher block table from my partner’s grandpa’s kitchen and the tip of the L is a rolling butcher block cart that my partner’s dad crafted. That’s 65% of the counter space we have. Plenty enough to make meals for 3 to 30 people. 🙂

That sounds really functional! And of course, butcher block is beautiful. Our kitchen is very small, and I’ve had several people over the years ask me if we’re going to expand it. My answer is always the same: You need less space than you think as long as the space you have functions. More space, for me, just means more mess to clean.

I completely agree. Ours is not large either, and it has 3 doorways. The center butcher blocks make it functional.

I’m so excited for them! We’ve also got boxes and boxes of tile for the bathroom and kitchen. It’s going to be so bright and airy and lovely when it’s done. 🙂 Hope you’re well, too!
