I’m stocking up! We’ve got a few already, including some of my favorites from when I was little. But give me all your recommendations!
Short post today – it’s Graham’s first day back at work and things are crazy. But they’re also wonderful and fulfilling and everything just feels so new and special. How lucky we are to be parents to our beautiful Lucy Lady. 😊

J and I loved the Little Bear series, but it is likely a while before Lucy is ready for that! J’s favorite was Birthday Soup and my mother would let him help her make it “carrots and potatoes, peas and tomatoes.” I think he was around 4 or 5 when we discovered them. Somewhere, I still have one of them!

The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein is one of my favorites. We also have a collection of Dr Seuss and the old Golden Books.

Touch and Feel Books were great and Dr. Seuss of course. Then as my son got older, books from Melanie Watt, the Dog Man series, and The Wimpy Kid.

This will date me, but I still have the first book I recall owning (which I got hen I was 3 or 4): Robert Louis Stevenson’s “A Child’s Garden of Verses.” Of course c I turned out to be a poet so perhaps it’s a dangerous choice.

More than a picture book, The Secret Garden by Francis Hodgson Burnett was my all-time favorite read as a young girl.

I haven’t read the comments so I apologize if this was already recommended. “I love you forever ” is one of the best children’s books! I read it to each of my kids when they were little and now to my grandkids. 😁
