Another year, another visit to Loudoun County’s (maybe) most haunted house! And this one might be my last, for reasons that I’ll talk about in an upcoming post. (Are you curious? I hope so!)
Anyway…
Here she is, in all her crumbling glory, as of October 2024:

And here’s last year’s post, for comparison: https://myvirginiadiary.com/2023/10/30/this-years-visit-to-the-maybe-most-haunted-house-in-loudoun/
They say nothing lasts forever, and this house certainly won’t. In the years that I’ve been visiting, I’ve watched the old girl deteriorate a little more each season.
And who knows if the house’s story will outlast it. I hope I’ve done my part, at least, to capture some of the mystery. It will never be anyone’s home again, but perhaps it can be someone’s memory. Even if it’s only mine.
P.S. As I do every year, I’ll add this disclaimer: This house is on private property, and there are no trespassing signs posted, so please don’t go poking around where you’re not welcome. It’s easy enough to take a picture from the road.
Such an intriquing old home and I bet there are stories to be heard. What is the history? I’m going to Google it now!

I initially learned about it from this book: https://www.amazon.com/Hauntings-Happenings-Loudoun-Frank-Raflo/dp/B000EJ2TVK

As fast as Loudoun County and the rest of Northern Virginia expands and grows … kind of amazing this house has lasted this long. Saying that, you wouldn’t have to worry about me trespassing. You wouldn’t catch me anywhere near that house or other supposed haunted attractions. Call me a Halloween scaredy cat!!! 🙀

It’s part of an old estate, so that’s why it’s still standing (or, as standing as it can be). I’m a Halloween wimp, too! Love the stories, not brave enough to do much exploring myself!

You know me (even if only virtually), and that I am eager to hear the news. Don’t wait too long, or we will all start making up stuff in our heads. Hoping for good news, interesting news, or even middle-of-the-road news, but I am sure you will have your reasons for that hook line! Given that I am curious to a fault at times, I will let you know if my top two guesses are close once you let us know. ❤️

It’s such an interesting place. You could honestly drive right by it and never even notice it’s there.
