(Almost) Wordless Wednesday: Snaggle

Y’all, this cat.

As he’s getting bigger, Merlin just keeps getting cuter and cuter. Seriously, just look at that adorable snaggle fang!

And I know I haven’t posted any pictures of her in a while, but Annie’s still trucking along, as well. She’s a sweet old lady who likes to nap in the coolest spot in the house – the basement – and just doesn’t seem to enjoy getting her picture taken anymore. But she’s here, and very much loved.

What would life be, I wonder, without these animals? They give so much to us just by existing.

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday: More Happy News!

The dining room ceiling is done!

It looks so nice, and the floor above it feels more secure than it’s probably felt in decades, and I just couldn’t be more pleased. Also, I’ve finally found a use for a lovely vintage (maybe antique?) chandelier I bought years ago, so I’m happy as a clam.

We still need to repaint the room, and it will really brighten things up. But for now, progress is progress!

And, in even MORE good news, we got the results of Graham’s blood test, and he is NOT a carrier of the recessive genetic condition I mentioned in my previous post. This means that, even though I’m a carrier, Baby Girl is not at risk. I’m just incredibly relieved and grateful.

So, a good day all around, and lots to smile about and be thankful for.

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday: Iceland Memories

It’s hard to believe that it’s been four years (FOUR YEARS!) since the last time we traveled internationally. And man, what a trip. Iceland was beautiful.

These pictures were taken on March 15, 2019.

I’d love to go back in the summer, since there was a lot we couldn’t see or do in winter. Maybe one of these days. In the meantime, I’ve got pretty pictures and good memories.

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday: Hello, little beauties!

Well, I guess I ought to just give up on snow this winter. It’s been warm and sunny and gorgeous this week. I spotted these little lovelies earlier today:

Daffodils! A little early this year, I think? Or maybe not. But it feels early. I suppose they’re ready, though, and honestly, if I can’t have a nice winter snow at this point in the season, I’ll certainly take an early spring.
