Do you think Merlin is plotting his?

Or maybe just taking measurements?
Honestly, I don’t even know if he knows quite what his goal is. Cats, y’all.

Y’all, this cat.

As he’s getting bigger, Merlin just keeps getting cuter and cuter. Seriously, just look at that adorable snaggle fang!
And I know I haven’t posted any pictures of her in a while, but Annie’s still trucking along, as well. She’s a sweet old lady who likes to nap in the coolest spot in the house – the basement – and just doesn’t seem to enjoy getting her picture taken anymore. But she’s here, and very much loved.
What would life be, I wonder, without these animals? They give so much to us just by existing.
I had a different post planned for today, but I just had to share. Merlin found a new spot over the weekend.

He has no idea how very…not ideal…this new spot of his is. Cats, y’all. Cats.
Y’all, this is MY chair. My comfy reading chair. That I bought especially for me. Where I do all my best thinking and writing and napping and stuff. Or, I guess, it used to be…

Sigh. I suppose I can’t fault Merlin for having good taste.
We have them.

But the weather is gorgeous and warm, there’s trivia tonight at one of our favorite places, and, for Merlin and Annie, there are plenty of soft, sunny spots to take a nap.
Wednesdays aren’t so bad after all, are they?
If you’ve been reading for a while, you probably know that redbud blossoms are my favorite and, well, we’re just about there!

I’ve loved redbud trees for as long as I can remember, and every spring, I’m just so happy when they bloom. Won’t be long now!
It’s hard to believe that it’s been four years (FOUR YEARS!) since the last time we traveled internationally. And man, what a trip. Iceland was beautiful.

These pictures were taken on March 15, 2019.

I’d love to go back in the summer, since there was a lot we couldn’t see or do in winter. Maybe one of these days. In the meantime, I’ve got pretty pictures and good memories.
But in the best way possible.

Seriously, is there any higher honor than being chosen by a cat? (He did eventually get up. Then we went to bed. And he slept on my foot.)
Well, I guess I ought to just give up on snow this winter. It’s been warm and sunny and gorgeous this week. I spotted these little lovelies earlier today:

Daffodils! A little early this year, I think? Or maybe not. But it feels early. I suppose they’re ready, though, and honestly, if I can’t have a nice winter snow at this point in the season, I’ll certainly take an early spring.
I know y’all are probably tired of Merlin content, but just look at him:

He’s growing so fast! And I feel like we only brought him home, like, a second ago. How time flies!
