It’s beginning to feel a little wintry around here! (If you’re new or just stumbled across this blog: Hi! My name is Katie, and winter is my favorite season.)
Not quite cold enough for snow, but most of the leaves have fallen off the trees, and yesterday the sky was cloudy and silvery gray. I know some of y’all have already seen your first snowfall, and I am super jealous. But I think we have reason here in Virginia to hope for some white stuff in the coming months.
In the meantime, I’m just enjoying the cooler weather and trying to decide how early is too early to put up Christmas decorations. This week’s fine, right? RIGHT?! (I don’t know why I’m asking. I’m just going to do it anyway…)

Thanks! It’s supposed to pop into the 70s later this week, which is going to feel really strange after several days of almost winter. Virginia is so weird.

Well, at least you get snowfall. There’s no snow where I live. I’ve never seen a live snowfall in my life. Ever. 😵

That would be so strange for me! But also probably really interesting. I think about it a lot, actually – I love winter, but I feel like it would be fun to live somewhere totally different from here.

I’m more of a put them up the weekend after thanksgiving and take them down by new years day. give or take a day or two

I totally get that. I like to have them up for as long as I can, but growing up, they went up after Thanksgiving and came down before the new year.
