Well, I’m not even surprised. It’s a running joke in the DC metro area and Northern Virginia that we live in a snow hole. It can snow all around us, and we’ll see nothing but clouds.
And, yeah…

Let me back up.
See, about a week ago, the weather powers that be were predicting 1-3 inches of snow today. Not enough to cause major problems, but enough to coat the ground and look nice. And, living in Virginia, I’ll take what I can get in terms of snowy weather. But, as usual, over the last few days, predictions dwindled to perhaps an inch, then maybe a dusting, and now, nothing at all. Nary a flake nor flurry to be found.
Sigh.
Am I disappointed? Yes, I am. But there’s a lot of winter left, and I’m nothing if not an eternal optimist. This one’s a bust, but tomorrow is always another day.
I am just happy to see sunshine today…just sayin’…

It actually ended up a little sunny here, too, on and off. A strange, mostly wintry day, but Virginia sure is indecisive.

It’s still looking pretty cold though…bbrrrrrrrrr….

It was pretty cold today. And it looked wintry, even without the snow. We’re apparently going to have above average temperatures for a while, though. So, meh.

i live in florida and snow is just a myth to us

Someone who lived in Florida told me once that it has two seasons: Summer, and even hotter summer. Can’t attest to the accuracy of that statement, though.

Very hot summer. And very cool Spring. Sometimes a Winter. Sometimes a Fall (sounds like the beginning of a poem).

Where I live it is very rare to witness snow even during winter season it doesn’t snow so if it happens it does we take it as blessings and it is something beautiful!!

That’s how I think of snow, too. 🙂 It’s not super rare here, though we certainly don’t see it that often, so when we do get a snow day, I’m always really grateful and happy.

Do the mountains steal your snow?

They don’t so much steal it as they push it north of us. Don’t know if that’s actually what’s happening, from a science perspective, but it feels that way.

Maybe mountains are like the seagulls in Finding Dory, when they see snow they jump up, “Mine. Mine Mine.”!

It’s definitely no fun to deal with snow when you have to be somewhere. I’m lucky in that I can work from home and stay put, but I know not everyone is in the same boat.
