For the last several weeks, we’ve had a crew working on our house. Exterior stuff for now, and as they’ve been fixing up our siding, it’s been fascinating to see what’s just underneath it.

It’s solid as a rock, we’ve been told.

Our old house may need a lot of care, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world. They just don’t make them like they used to.
Oh my gosh–rock lath? You have rock lath!

I lived in a house once that was early 1900s and it had rock lath. That house was cool in the summer and warm in the winter, with great tall ceilings and the coolest attic. It is still standing tall and proud–just like yours!

That’s so cool. I love old houses, and they really don’t make them like they used to. I’m not surprised at all that it’s still standing!

We’re very lucky where we live – it’s a small community and we’ve got lots of good people to give us advice and help us find the best workers.

My house is 45 years old
My father built it.
Yes, I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
Old houses are rock solid.

I’m doing well! The weather’s turned cold here and I’m hoping that we’ll see some snow this winter. The hoping is exciting. 🙂 How are you doing?

I’m glad to know that you are well. I’m good as well. It’s getting cold here too, but I don’t want to see any snow, because it’s already very cold here.
Luckily, it doesn’t snow here.

A lot of history just inside the walls, can you sometimes hear time passing by or going backward into time.. Very very cool, all those ghosts of time in the walls.. ❤

I can absolutely feel it! It’s so fascinating to walk into an older building – it’s like they want to tell their stories. 🙂

I’m not worried. 🙂 They’ve been doing a great job, and it’s my goal to make sure that our house stands for at least another 200 years.
