I wish I had it in me
to pity the
hateful people
who’ve brought us to this precipice.
Taught only to be
afraid and angry,
the rage is all they’ve got.
I wish I were strong enough to
give them grace.
But I’m not.
I wish I had it in me
to pity the
hateful people
who’ve brought us to this precipice.
Taught only to be
afraid and angry,
the rage is all they’ve got.
I wish I were strong enough to
give them grace.
But I’m not.
Well said. A life of rage … must be a sad existence. But it’s their choice. Even sadder!

“Forgive them, Father, for they know not what they do.” I am not a religious man. I never go to church or believe in religion but them ten words seem to get me through the dumb-assary of people.

Same! (Though these days, it’s really hard to keep those words in mind.)

Thank you! I had started out writing something longer, and this is where it ended up. I love it when that happens.
