My oldest friend (or so it seems),
how nice to be acquainted once more.
Dear Night-time,
we never do part ways for long, do we?
And here we are again,
singing this same familiar song
in chorus with the moon and the tide and the stars,
waiting and not waiting
for the rest of the world to join us.
Quiet though we may be,
we’re quite good company,
you and the dark sky and me.

gorgeous! words and image! xox

Nice to see you back again, poetess and photographer as well as Mom…speaking of, wondering if this was inspired by a night time rock with Lucy…

Nice to be back! I’m finding time to really write – like, the good stuff – more these days because Lucy has finally transitioned to her own room and is sleeping 11-12 hours every night. It is amazing. But it’s also opened the door to my insomnia. Everything’s a balance, right?

I like this poem. It describes the way I feel sitting around the campfire searching the stars… for answers! 😂

I love to hear that! I haven’t had a chance to sit by a campfire and look at the stars in a while. Something I need to put on my list!

I love how you’ve embraced the night time as a friend even though insomnia can be a very difficult thing to deal with.

Thanks! I don’t love that I can’t sleep well, but I think it’s important to always find the positives. It’s nice to have the quiet time to myself. 🙂
