Picture it:
A cool breeze
and a constant drizzle
in the newly gold-tipped trees,
and inside
a warm house,
two lovers sit by a fire,
drinking tea.
“Rain all weekend,”
says the one, and
“That’s not so bad,”
says the other.
And it’s true,
you know –
there are worse ways
to spend
a couple of days
than inside, together,
just watching
the autumn world
turn damp and gray.

you could be in florida with no power and sweating your bums off 😉

I know! I heard a few people here in Virginia complain over the weekend that they were tired of the rain, and I was like, you know it could be so, so much worse, right? I’m grateful that all we got up here was a little bit of wind and water.

luckily we didn’t lose power. Ian came by us to close for comfort. It was a bit scary but i am use to the hurricanes since i have lived in florida almost my whole life, since i was 7 years old. SO i fairly use to the wind and rain and flooding. Don’t get me wrong I do get scared but i put on my brave hat and weather it. 🙂

My husband’s from the beach and hurricanes definitely don’t rattle him the same way they do me. Funny how you get used to things. I’m glad Ian didn’t hit your area too bad!

My goodness those same people were probably whining 2 weeks ago about how we need rain so bad. I mean we lost power for a while over this part of VA but it could have been so much worse.

Exactly! We had some limbs down, but nothing that we can’t handle. Again, just so grateful.

Hi, reading this was a nice way to start my day in Kentucky, still no color in the trees around my place.

They’ll get there! It’s subtle here right now, but I’m enjoying it anyway. 🙂
