…but Annie hasn’t changed one bit. She still finds all this holiday business exhausting. Naps abound around here lately, for all of us.
Meanwhile, in my waking time, I’m working on December’s short story. It’ll be up on Friday!
I can’t remember the last time I had my picture taken with Santa. Well, the last time before this past Friday, anyway.
I’m so glad someone thought to capture this moment! We had a lovely evening at one of our favorite local spots singing Christmas carols and spending time with friends, and as it turned out, with Santa, too. Hopefully this becomes an annual thing, because it was so much fun. But if not, at least I’ve got the picture. And of course, the happy memory, too. 😊
This is Graham and I, dressed as each other for a Halloween party back in 2017. I have no idea how I fit all of my hair under that wig. And yes, I am wearing Graham’s actual clothes. (And also yes, I do still wear pajamas a vast majority of the time. No shame here.)
My only regret is that we didn’t get MORE photos.
Graham randomly snapped this photo sitting by the fire pit at a friend’s house a couple of weekends ago, and was surprised at how nice it turned out. He says that if I were ever to make a country music album, which is so unlikely as to be ridiculous but still fun to ponder, this should be the album cover.
I agree. Nothing like a good pair of boots, is there?
It’s been cloudy, drizzly, and cool all day today. It almost feels like the sun never came up. I dig it. Tea and reading weather.
Or, you know, picture-taking weather.
I’m a winter person, but I admit, fall’s pretty nice, too.
It’s been a rainy, windy, cloudy, dark, and on the whole pretty gloomy day around here. So, you know, perfect reading weather. 😊 I’m curled up in my chair, and Annie’s hanging out with me in the living room. She’s really just totally mastered the art of rainy day relaxing.
Good dog. Stay.
This is where I found Gatsby earlier today. It is one of his most favorite places for an afternoon nap. Yes, it is a basket of dirty laundry. House cats are such strange (marvelous, but strange) creatures.
I confess, I’ve never been much of a beach person. I like cooler weather and don’t mind a rainy day.
But it sure is nice here. And I’m only a little sunburned.
The sunrises and sunsets have been particularly colorful and just really lovely.
We’ve got a few more days of sun and sand and saltwater, and I plan to enjoy them all. In between writing my July short story, of course. It’ll be posted on Friday. 😊
