Lady Blue,
now ring your bell
through forest, field, and fairy dell,
from riverbank to village green:
the time has come for growing things.

Virginia bluebells. Aren’t they beautiful? The trail we hiked on Saturday was just full of them. They bloom for a long time, too. I’ll post some additional pictures tomorrow. In the meantime, here are a couple of links about bluebells (it looks like they might grow in Mississippi, too!): https://www.wildflower.org/plants/result.php?id_plant=mevi3, https://www.americanmeadows.com/perennials/woodland-wildflowers/virginia-bluebells/how-to-grow-virginia-bluebells

Thank you, and yes, they are truly beautiful. I have not seen anything like it here, but I have spotted a couple of new-to-me plants in the yard this spring.

What a lovely poem and photo! We have them here in Ohio, but they’re not up yet.

Thank you! You’ll have to post a picture once they’ve bloomed. 🙂 I just can’t seem to get enough of spring this year!

So lovely. Our gifted bluebells don’t seem to be flowering this year. More shade needed I suspect.

I hope they perk up! Bluebells are one of my favorite parts of spring. 🙂

Thank you! They are lovely. I hiked Saturday, and parts of the trail were just surrounded by fields of blue. I’ll post some additional pictures tomorrow.

Oh wow, sounds nice! We don’t have them up this far north. We do have a type of blue bell flower, but they are not found in large numbers.

I posted a few more pictures just now. I’d love to see your area’s native blue bell flower!

I’ll check out the pics. I will be starting a wildflower of the day series soon and those blue bells will be on there.😃😺
