Inspiration…
lacking.
And slacking on the list.
Hours turn to evenings with
nothing to show.
I know, I know –
I can do better than this.
(One breath,
one step,
one task
at a time.)
Just choose the words
and make them rhyme.
Take a moment
and let it grow,
let it live
and sing.
Just make something.
(Anything.
Yes, you can.)
I really enjoyed this, Katie. Is procrastination a close relative of writer’s block? They seem to walk hand in hand. Still, you managed to squeeze something decent from them.

YES! They’re absolutely related, at least for me. It’s a bad habit I just can’t seem to shake, though sometimes I do better than others. Glad you liked the poem! It definitely felt good to put my stress to use. 🙂

It must be the summer break. I’m experiencing the same, but as you said, back to small steps. Have a good week.

Definitely something to do with getting back into the swing of things after summer, for me. I love fall, though, so I’m waiting for the inspiration I normally feel once the temperature turns and the leaves start to change. It’ll come, I know. You do the same! Happy writing!

A totally relatable thought process 🙂 You could always try Hemingway’s “Just write one true sentence. And then go from there.”
