I can feel it, even now,
in the cool night air
and the subtle shift in the evening light,
and in the gentle way the leaves seem to sigh
and say,
“We are tired, and ready to let go.”
As one season waves goodbye
and another prepares to cross the threshold,
I breathe it in and wait,
and know:
All things come in their own time.

I can feel it, too!

I’m looking forward to the change. 🙂 I love summer, but there’s just something about fall.

Lovely poem, Katie. 🧡
I’m more than ready for fall. Around here, the daytime temperatures have been getting up to around 100 for about three weeks now. And the humidity…ugg.

The humidity is the worst! It’s supposed to be really hot here this weekend, though it cools down pretty well at night. I’m ready for a change.

It stays pretty warm through September around here, too, but the evenings have already started to cool down a little bit. I’ll take what I can get. 😉
